Trip to Moesgaard Museum

 

Went on a school trip to Moesgaard Museum today. I haven't been before, but I have wanted to - just couldn't before - now I can! Sorry about the crappy pictures. I did consider bringing my camera but I wasn't sure if it was allowed - so figured my phone was more subtle. 

We were about 30 people out of 4 classes, so not too crowded and when we arrived the museum was practically empty - till an hour later when the place was swarming with people. Our teachers booked us a guided tour through the Rus Vikings In The East Exhibition and then we had a few hours to freely see the rest of the museum's exhibitions. I knew today would be overwhelming and a struggle, but I was determined to go - even though my guidance counselor said I was excused from going. I have just wanted to go for ages and I couldn't because of OCD - and I wasn't about to let OCD win this one. It didn't win, but it sure put up a fight. As soon as we walked inside where it was dark my anxiety levels went sky high! But I pushed through and give myself credit for doing so. It over-exhausted me though and I was ready to leave way before everyone else - however, I had to wait (we got there by bus together, 40-minute drive). My teachers were kind enough to help me through it all and support me. It was tough but definitely worth it. Not only did I win over my own mind today - but I proved to myself that I can do it again. And I will ♡

I napped in the bus on our way back and when I got home I slept for a few hours. Now I have just woken up and once I am done writing this I am going to watch a film and enjoy a large cup of tea ♡

This room gave me mixed feelings. I kinda loved it but it also made my stomach turn. Felt like a fever dream. But it looked cool - had little figures placed among the crosses, representing the seven deadly sins. But yeah, round dark room with this all over the walls - fever dream!
