New Place & Pics from the Move

Here is downstairs of my new home. This is where the people who work here have their offices, there are common rooms with games and there are two kitchens that we can all use. Every other Monday we have house meetings, every Wednesday there are various activities for us to sign up for (outings, sports, things like that) and every Friday there is a cafe thing where everyone can come have tea and talk with the people working here. Living here is a huge challenge for me as there are a lot of activities and people! Some are going to London next month - but I said no thanks - maybe next time!

This is my apartment, one bedroom with own tea kitchen and own bathroom. I have the biggest apartment in the building - got lucky there! And the view isn't bad either. These are pics from right before I moved in and I will, of course, share pics over time showing you what it looks like now. You have seen the corner of my bedroom already!

OCD Challenge - Doing My Own Laundry

Laundry has been a no-go for me the past two years as it couldn't be done in my own home - didn't have washer and dryer. Doing anything out of the house is difficult because of my OCD so I had others do it for me. Moving in here means I have to do it myself and every Tuesday is my laundry day. It's technically out of my apartment, but it's not as bad as actually having to leave the building. I managed to do all my laundry and not cave into my OCD routines and rituals. Definitely challenging and painful, but I did it! To others doing laundry is a small achievement, but to me, it is a huge achievement and my contact person says I should start giving myself credit for these achievements - so yay me!

I had a meeting early afternoon and I didn't sleep well, so didn't get started till 2 pm and finished at 11 pm. Now I know to start earlier next week! Tuesday laundry day - here I come!

As you can see I have moved..five minutes away from where I lived before. I am now living in a "home/institution" where I will be helped with my everyday struggles due to my mental health issues such as OCD, anxiety and so on! Took a little while longer to get settled here since I am moving from a 3 bedroom to a one bedroom - WHY DO I HAVE SO MANY THINGS?!?

I hope you are all well Thanks for sticking around
